The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State has announced plans to establish Mega Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) centres across the Port Harcourt metropolis as part of efforts to expand access to voter registration for eligible citizens.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Mrs. Geraldine Ekelemu, Head of Voter Education and Publicity, for the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC Rivers State.
According to the Commission, the Mega CVR centres will operate from Tuesday, April 7 to Sunday, April 12, 2026, for a period of six days, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily.
The initiative is aimed at providing more opportunities for citizens who have attained the age of 18 to register as voters, as well as enabling registered voters to carry out transfer of registration, replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and correction of personal details during the ongoing second phase of the CVR exercise.

INEC stated that the centres have been strategically located across major institutions and public spaces within the city to ensure easy access for residents and students.
The designated Mega CVR centres include the New Convocation Arena at the University of Port Harcourt; Love Garden at Rivers State University; the Union Office at Mile 3 Market; RTC Park at Waterlines Park; the Old Lecture Hall at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education; and the Students’ Union Hall at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic.
The Commission encouraged residents, particularly students and young people within the metropolis, to take advantage of the opportunity to register and update their voter information.

INEC also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring inclusive participation, transparency and credibility in the electoral process in Rivers State.
