Indonesia’s environment ministry has filed lawsuits against six companies over environmental damage linked to recent floods in Sumatra, seeking nearly $283.9 million in compensation.
Due to heavy rainfall and vulnerable terrain, Indonesia is prone to flash floods and landslides during the rainy season.
