The people of Ikono-Ini Federal Constituency have thrown their full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno PhD, endorsing them for continuity in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced on Monday December 29 during the constituency’s annual Yuletide meeting and a massive 50000 man solidarity march held in Ikono – Ini. Political leaders, party stakeholders, traditional rulers community representatives and supporters from across Ikono and Ini Local Government Area were in attendance.
Setting the tone for the event, Sir Victor Etefia described President Tinubu’s economic reforms as bold, necessary steps aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy for long term stability. He urged residents to remain patient, supportive, expressing confidence that the policies would soon yield tangible benefits.
Obonganwan Lovina Umoefah in her remarks stressed the importance of unity and leadership continuity, noting that the endorsement reflected the confidence of the people in leadership who have demonstrated capacity, commitment at both national and state levels.
Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress in Ikono and Ini Local Government Areas affirmed that party structures at the grassroots were fully aligned with the adoption. Council Chairmen from both local governments also pledged sustained mobilization, engagement in support of the endorsed leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Member representing Ikono Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Rt Hon Emmanuel Ukpong Udo described the endorsement as a collective decision rooted in performance and people centered governance.
According to him, the economic reforms of President Tinubu, the stabilizing leadership of the Senate President, Akpabio and the unity driven administration of Governor Umo Eno have earned them overwhelming support across the constituency.
As part of the event Ukpong Udo announced a N1.5 billion empowerment package, scheduled for rollout in February 2026, aimed at boosting livelihoods, supporting small businesses, empowering youths, women across Ikono Ini Federal Constituency.
He also revealed plans to embark on a ward-to-ward tour of the constituency to personally identify beneficiaries, assuring residents that the process would be transparent and inclusive.

The lawmaker further distributed N250 million in cash, welfare items to constituents as part of the Christmas celebrations – drawing loud applause, appreciation from the crowd.
The event marked a strong show of unity, political momentum in Ikono Ini Federal Constituency as residents rallied behind leaders they believe can sustain development, peace, inclusive governance beyond 2027.
