Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continues enforcement operations in Minneapolis despite widespread public outrage over recent deadly confrontations involving federal agents.
Officers have carried out raids in multiple neighborhoods, including areas with large Latino populations, as tensions remain high following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti and other controversial actions.
Local leaders and civil society groups have condemned the federal operations, demanding accountability and better oversight of ICE activities. Questions have also emerged about the agency’s leadership in light of recent incidents.
ICE, however, insists the operations are necessary to enforce federal immigration laws. Observers say the events have reignited debates over civil rights, federal authority, and the treatment of minority communities in U.S.
