GOVERNOR’S AIDE INSPECTS IBIONO IBOM ROADS, SHARES RELIEF ITEMS ON THE STREETS

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Market Matters, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael, has embarked on an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing rural road grading project in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, following his recent release of ₦6 million for the exercise.

According to Raphael, the visit was to ensure the roads approved for grading are properly handled and completed to specification, in line with the purpose of easing movement, improving access for residents, especially farmers and traders who rely heavily on rural roads.

During a stop at Ikot Ekop, Raphael paid a courtesy visit to the Village Head, Eteidung Asuakak Brown, where he reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Umo Eno towards community development.

He disclosed that projects executed in the area under the current administration are expected to be commissioned in 2026.

Raphael described development as the foundation of his leadership approach, noting that meaningful governance must be felt at the grassroots.

Responding, Chief Asuakak Brown thanked Raphael for his consistency, hands-on approach, describing him as a leader who remains close to the people, genuinely committed to the growth of the community.

The Governor’s aide later visited Ikot Ambang, where he met with commercial motorcycle operators. In a show of goodwill, he shared support items with the bike riders on ground, urging them to remain law-abiding, supportive of peace, progress in the area.

Community members expressed satisfaction with both the quality of the road work and Raphael’s personal supervision, describing the visit as a clear sign of accountability and concern for the wellbeing of the people.

The road grading exercise is ongoing, expected to be completed in few days.
