Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has felicitated former Governor, Obong Victor Attah, on his 87th birthday, describing him as a revered statesman and the “father of modern Akwa Ibom State.”
In a goodwill message on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Eno praised the elder statesman for his enduring contributions to the development of the state, both during his tenure as governor from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007, and in the years that have followed.
Governor Eno acknowledged Attah’s foundational role in shaping the modern Akwa Ibom landscape through visionary policies, infrastructural development, and deliberate planning, which earned him widespread respect and admiration.
He further commended the former governor for his continued statesmanship, guidance, and unwavering faith in the ARISE Agenda, Akwa Ibom’s current governance blueprint aimed at expanding development, deepening economic growth, and building a sustainable future for the state.

Governor Eno also lauded Attah for documenting his distinguished career in both the private and public sectors through the new book being launched as part of his birthday celebration. Attah, one of Nigeria’s most accomplished architects, is credited with transformative contributions before transitioning into public service.
“As you turn 87 today, we pray for more robust health and strength so we may continue to drink from the fountain of your wisdom,” Governor Eno said.
He wished the elder statesman a joyful celebration and many more impactful years.
