Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has formalized a partnership with Media Guru Consultant LLC of Dubai to transform the state-owned Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) into a world-class media establishment.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Governor Eno by the Secretary to State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, during a brief ceremony at Government House, Uyo, today.
Governor Eno reaffirmed that the initiative fulfills his campaign pledge and aligns with his administration’s commitment to strengthening the state’s information and communication infrastructure.
He explained that the project covers consultancy, design, procurement and installation of modern broadcast equipment, positioning AKBC to compete with leading broadcasters in Nigeria and beyond.
In her remarks, Director-General of AKBC, Mrs. Imaobong Udoh, applauded Governor Eno for honoring his promise to revamp the station and expressed excitement on behalf of the station’s management and staff, describing the development as a major milestone in AKBC’s journey to reclaim its leadership role in the media landscape.
She assured that with this upgrade, Akwa Ibom residents and Nigerians at large will soon enjoy a new era of high-quality broadcasting.
