Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced that civil servants in the State will receive their 13th-month salary, popularly known as Eno-mber, before December 20, 2025, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and a people-centered governance approach.
The governor made the declaration during the December Covenant Service held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, where he also unveiled extensive plans to ensure that “there will be something for everyone this Christmas.”
Governor Eno stated that all political office holders have been mandated to contribute toward a statewide Christmas support programme.
As part of this initiative, bags of rice will be distributed to every household across the 31 local government areas through their respective village authorities.
“We are preparing to reach out to everyone with good tidings. Workers will get their 13th-month salary before December 20. On that same day, all political appointees will participate in a ‘home-going’ initiative to support the Christmas food distribution across the state,” the Governor assured.
He also clarified that the ban on masquerades on streets and public spaces in the State is an executive order already signed into law, warning that violators will be arrested and prosecuted to maintain law and order throughout the holidays.
