Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured Akwa Ibom indigenes resident in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, of more developmental projects, reaffirming his administration’s commitment towards inclusive growth, strategic asset repositioning, and improved welfare for citizens at home and in the diaspora.
Governor Eno gave the assurance on Sunday, February 8, 2026, during a visit to the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, where he attended the community’s general meeting and outlined key development priorities under his administration’s ARISE Agenda.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor announced plans to develop the Ibom Hotels and Apartments Project in Abuja, which he said would replace the moribund old liaison office and reposition the state’s asset as a revenue-generating hospitality and commercial hub.
He also disclosed plans for an Ibom Housing Estate in Abuja, aimed at providing decent and affordable accommodation for Akwa Ibom indigenes living in the nation’s capital.
Governor Eno emphasised that development under the ARISE Agenda goes beyond road construction, noting that his administration is currently implementing 84 priority projects across strategic sectors of the economy.
According to him, while the government has constructed over 1,210 kilometres of roads across the state, it is also investing in tourism, transportation, aviation, maritime development, healthcare, education, rural development, housing, water supply, and economic empowerment.
“Our development drive is holistic. Beyond roads, we have deliberately focused on projects that directly touch lives and strengthen communities across Akwa Ibom State,” Eno said.
Earlier, President of the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, Nkpisong Barrister Gabriel Fan, commended the governor for what he described as visible development strides recorded under the ARISE Agenda.
Fan announced the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno for the 2027 elections, pledging the community’s continued support. He also decorated Governor Eno as the Grand Patron of the community in recognition of his leadership and commitment to the welfare of Akwa Ibom people.
As part of the visit, Governor Eno donated an 18-seater bus to the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, describing the gesture as a contribution to strengthening unity and mobility among members of the community.
