Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Monday visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to express appreciation for the President’s recent visit to the state and the commissioning of several major projects.
Speaking after the meeting, Governor Abiodun said the visit was to personally thank the President for what he described as a historic trip to Ogun State. During that visit, President Tinubu inaugurated the Gateway International Airport, launched Gateway Airlines, welcomed the state’s first cargo airline, and commissioned other key infrastructure projects aimed at boosting economic development.
As part of the visit to the Villa, the governor presented President Tinubu with a ceremonial sword in recognition of his traditional title of Jagaban, a title widely interpreted as symbolizing a leader of warriors and a victorious figure.
Governor Abiodun said the symbolic gift was also a gesture of respect for the President’s leadership and commitment to national development.
He used the occasion to encourage President Tinubu to continue his efforts in tackling crime, strengthening security, and sustaining the fight against corruption across the country.
The Ogun Governor also expressed confidence in the President’s leadership as preparations gradually build toward the next electoral cycle.
According to him, the people of Ogun remain firmly supportive of President Tinubu and his administration’s policies and programmes.
