Global defense stocks jumped sharply after U.S. President, Donald Trump called for a $1.5 trillion defense budget for 2027.

Shares of major U.S. defense contractors, including Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and RTX, surged, while European and Asian defense firms also saw gains. The move reflects expectations of increased military spending and expansion of defense capabilities, amid rising geopolitical tensions.

The proposed budget would be one of the largest in U.S. history, funding new weapons systems, modernization programs, and other strategic military initiatives.
