Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering on its mandate, recovering lost ground, emphasizing that he possesses the resilience to achieve the goals set by the people of the state.
Fubara made the remarks on Friday while swearing in five new Special Advisers at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
The appointees are Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Victor Ekaro, and Darlington Orji.
The Governor urged the Advisers to work collectively, remain committed to the administration’s vision of people-centred governance.
He noted that the appointments were intended to strengthen teamwork, ensure the machinery of government functions smoothly.
“What we are doing is bringing in some persons on board to ensure the wheels of governance continue to roll smoothly in our state,” Fubara said.
He further highlighted that the Advisers were chosen because they were already familiar with the philosophy and direction of his administration, having previously served in different capacities.
“I believe that these appointees are not new faces. They’ve been with us, they’ve worked with us. They understand the philosophy of this administration and it will not be a problem following and ensuring that our goals are achieved,” he said.
Fubara stressed that effective governance requires collective effort, discipline, shared responsibility; cautioning the Advisers against complacency.
The Governor described the appointments as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance, service delivery; urging the Advisers not to disappoint!
The appointments follow a minor cabinet reshuffle on Thursday, which included the redeployment of Barr. Christopher Green, the Commissioner for Sports, to the Ministry of Justice as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
Two of the newly sworn-in special Advisers are former Commissioners, who have previously served under Fubara’s administration.
The Governor expressed confidence that the new Advisers would work as a cohesive team to implement the government’s vision, deliver results for the people of Rivers State.
