As Christians in Nigeria join millions around the world to celebrate the Easter season, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged believers to extend love, compassion, and support to the less privileged during and beyond the festive period.

In an Easter message titled “The Blessed Hope in Christ’s Resurrection,” the First Lady congratulated Christians on the celebration, describing Easter as one of the most significant events in the Christian faith.

She noted that the season commemorates the sacrificial death and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, which she said represents the ultimate expression of love, redemption, and hope for humanity.

Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that the message of Easter should inspire Nigerians, particularly Christians, to reflect on the virtues demonstrated by Christ selflessness, sacrifice, and compassion for others, while encouraging the faithful to remember those who are struggling and to extend hands of fellowship to the needy in their communities.

According to her, Easter serves as a reminder of the enduring power of love and the transformative hope that comes through Christ’s resurrection. She therefore called on Christians to translate the lessons of the season into practical acts of kindness by supporting the vulnerable, sharing with those in need, and fostering unity among Nigerians.

The First Lady further urged citizens to allow the spirit of the celebration to strengthen their commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and national development. She stressed that collective efforts, sacrifice, and genuine concern for one another are necessary for building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Mrs. Tinubu also offered prayers for Nigeria, expressing hope that the spirit of Easter would inspire citizens to love one another, uplift the vulnerable, and work together toward lasting peace, unity, and prosperity across the country.

The First Lady encouraged Nigerians to carry the lessons of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection beyond the Easter celebrations, ensuring that compassion, generosity, and unity remain guiding principles in their daily lives.
