A fire broke out in the Kibera slum in Nairobi on Saturday, destroying dozens of houses, authorities reported.
Residents were seen trying to extinguish the flames, clear debris, no casualties have been reported.
Local sources said the fire spread rapidly through the densely populated area, leaving many families displaced. Emergency services responded to the incident, but the scale of the slum and close proximity of structures hampered containment efforts.
