FEMD, FRSC TO BOOST ROAD SAFETY VIA INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION

The FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD) has pledged to strengthen its existing collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) to enhance safety on FCT roads.

The Ag Director General of FEMD, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed asserted this position when he received members of the Central Business District of the FRSC led by its unit commander, Assistant Corps Commander Zayanu Ibrahim, in Abuja.

Abdulrahman noted that as emergency responders both agencies must work together to save lives.

Ths was disclosed in a recent statement by Head, Public Affairs at the FEMD, Nkechi Isa.

In his words:” As responders we must collaborate, there should be no rivalry.

“You can demand capacity from us because we have access to our statutory stakeholders.

“We must also leverage the emergency ambulance service established by the Federal Government”.

Describing the FRSC as partners in progress, the FEMD Boss charged the Search and Rescue Team to consolidate the existing relationship with the FRSC.

Earlier, Assistant Corps Commander, Zayanu Ibrahim, had opined that FEMD was strategic in road safety management.

Ibrahim said: ” We carry out the same duties, but we enforce,you don’t enforce. I see both agencies as one because we do similar duties of ensuring the safety of our people.”

He also expressed the hope that both agencies would further strengthen the already existing collaboration.

Zayanu Ibrahim was recently deployed to the Central Business District, following his promotion.

Transcorp Hilton Abuja reaffirms commitment to strong media partnership

This was made at an event, themed “Media Cocktail Reception,” which brought together prominent journalists, senior editors, and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman Comrade Grace Ike.

In his welcome address, the General Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Mr. Martin Zarybnick, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the media for their consistent support and partnership over the years through reportage and positive coverage.

Zarybnicky reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to maintaining a close working relationship with the media, noting that collaboration remains key to growth and innovation in the hospitality industry.

He assured that “the doors of Transcorp Hilton will always remain open to the media for enquiries, engagement, and partnership opportunities that showcase the hotel’s unique services.”

Similarly, the Transcorp’s Communications & Marketing Manager, Ijeoma Osuji delivered a short presentation highlighting Transcorp Hilton’s innovative hospitality offerings and corporate social responsibility achievements.

The presentation revealed that in 2025 alone, the hotel recycled over 15,000 kilograms of waste through eco-friendly processes and supported hundreds of individuals, including persons living with disabilities.

Among those in attendance were the Immediate Past President of the NUJ, Comrade Chief Chris Isiguzo MFR, Deputy Managing Director Arise News Bayo Awosemo, the NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, Council Secretary, Comrade Sandra Udeike and Council Auditor Rosemary Ukoko-Tega, among others.
