Leaders from public service, business, finance, technology, entrepreneurship, and civil society gathered in Lagos for the inaugural National Leadership Dialogue organized by the African Leadership Initiative West Africa (ALIWA).

The event provided a platform to explore values-based leadership, institutional reforms, and collaborative strategies to tackle Nigeria’s social, economic, and governance challenges.

In his welcome address, ALIWA Nigeria President, Soji Apampa, stressed that leadership must be anchored in integrity, clarity, and practical action, not symbolism. “Platforms like this are critical to shaping leaders who can define reality honestly and work collectively to deliver meaningful change for our country,” he said.

Delivering the keynote, Okechukwu Enelamah, ALIWA Fellow and Chairman of African Capital Alliance, described integrity as the cornerstone of leadership. He added that strong systems, transparency, and accountability are essential for leadership that transforms nations.

The dialogue featured two panels. The first focused on building resilient leadership for the 21st century, covering ethical decision-making, inclusion, and leadership under pressure. The second examined resilient systems through governance, technology, partnerships, and institutional reforms.

Other sessions included the 2026 economic outlook by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group and presentations by Amina Oyagbola, founder of WISCAR, and Prof. Fabian Ajogwu SANOFR, highlighting ALIWA’s practical impact on communities and institutions.

The forum concluded with calls for leaders to prioritize integrity, collaboration, and accountability as Nigeria navigates complex challenges in governance and development.
