United States based solar technology company, Enphase Energy Incorporated, has announced plans to lay off about 160 employees as part of efforts to streamline operations, improve profitability.
The company said the job cuts represent less than six percent of its total workforce and will be accompanied by the relocation of some operational functions to lower cost regions.
Enphase disclosed that the decision forms part of a broader restructuring strategy aimed at reducing operating expenses, strengthening its financial position.
The company estimated that restructuring and asset impairment charges will amount to about 4.6 million dollars, with approximately 4.2 million dollars expected to be recorded in the first quarter of 2026.
It further stated that it expects to reduce its adjusted operating expenses to between 70 million and 75 million dollars per quarter starting from the third quarter of 2026.
Enphase Energy is a major player in the global solar energy market, providing microinverter systems, energy management solutions for residential and commercial customers.
The company did not disclose the specific locations or departments that will be most affected by the layoffs.
Management said the restructuring is necessary to align operations with current market realities, position the company for long term sustainability in the highly competitive renewable energy sector.
