President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, as Christians celebrate Easter.
In a goodwill message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President urged Christians to reflect on the core values of love, unity, and peace symbolised by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“On behalf of my family, my constituents, the Senate, and the National Assembly, I extend my warmest Easter greetings to all Christians in Nigeria and around the world,” Akpabio said.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that His message embodies. Let us work together to build a nation where everyone can live together in peace, harmony, and prosperity.”
Acknowledging the security challenges facing the country, Akpabio expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its current difficulties through collective efforts and national unity.

“I want to assure Nigerians that we will overcome these difficulties through collective efforts, understanding, and prayers. The President is not resting on his oars, and the Armed Forces and other security agencies have been working relentlessly to tame the tide,” he stated.
The Senate President also sympathised with families affected by insecurity across the country, particularly victims of recent attacks in Jos, praying for the repose of the deceased and comfort for their loved ones.
“I pray that Almighty God will have mercy on those who lost their lives and console the bereaved families,” he added.

Akpabio further urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united, expressing confidence that with faith and cooperation, the nation would overcome its challenges and move towards a more peaceful and prosperous future.
