Women traders of Ikot Ambang Market gathered to return praises to God for preservation, thanking Him for the leaders of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area from the grassroots to the national level as well as for Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.

The monthly prayer summit held at the market square featured songs, dancing and prayers. Traders described the gathering as a moment of joy in the presence of the Lord.

According to the Market Chairman, Mr. Sunday Samuel, the December edition of the prayer summit was dedicated to praying for Ibiono Ibom leaders, including the Local Government Chairman Rt. Hon. Asuakak Umoh, Hon. Moses Essien, Member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, and Rt. Hon. Ime Okon, Member representing Itu Ibiono Federal Constituency. He thanked participants for their turnout.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Sunday Samuel expressed gratitude to God for His benevolence on Ibiono Ibom, Akwa Ibom and Nigeria, noting that despite the challenges in the country, God remains faithful. He also highlighted that through the support of the Local Government Chairman, he decided to make the December 2025 prayer summit a special celebration for the market women.

“As part of sharing love this season and through the support of Rt. Hon. Asuakak Umoh, I decided to celebrate this month with the women,” he said.

Also addressing the gathering, Esv. Nse Bassey commended the Market Chairman for hosting what he called a memorable summit. He praised the women for supporting the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno, noting that their programmes are people centered.

Evangelist Alice Anthony Essien, Market Women Leader, eulogized the Market Chairman for consistently championing God’s work in the market and for sharing love with the women during every edition. She described the December summit as exceptional and prayed for God’s goodness upon him.

Highlight of the event was the distribution of wrappers, rice and other gift items to the women.
