The National Industrial Court, Abuja Division, has ordered all members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to refrain from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, or embarking upon any form of industrial action.

Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim issued the interim injunction following an application by the federal government through the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice. The court temporarily barred the Association from strikes, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption.

The order also restrains NARD from taking steps preparatory to any industrial action starting January 12, 2026. The injunction will remain in effect pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice scheduled for January 21, 2026.

The Association had previously threatened to commence a strike on Monday, January 12, 2026, prompting the federal government’s intervention.
