COURT JAILS MAN OVER N25.2M OIL THEFT IN LAGOS

Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, February 16, 2026, convicted and sentenced Muhammad Ibrahim Bello to three years’ imprisonment for stealing oil valued at N25,212,500.00 (Twenty-five Million, Two Hundred and Twelve Thousand, Five Hundred Naira only).

Bello was arraigned on April 30, 2025, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, on a one-count charge bordering on stealing.

The charge was brought pursuant to Section 280(1)(b) and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Upon conclusion of proceedings, Justice Dada found the defendant guilty sentenced him accordingly.
