Catholic Bishop of Oyo Diocese, Most Reverend Emmanuel Dr. Badejo, has called on Nigerians to use the celebration of Christmas to bring an end to banditry, injustice, and other social vices in the country.

The Bishop made the call in his Christmas message released on today in Ibadan.

Bishop Badejo said the birth of Jesus Christ should signal an end to bad governance, bribery, corruption, bloodshed, and all forms of wrongdoing in society.

He urged leaders at all levels to repent, empower the people especially the youth and promote justice in order to bring joy and hope to citizens.

According to him, leaders must take responsibility for those under their care in families, churches, businesses, and the wider society.

The Bishop also advised Christians to shun hypocrisy and live out their faith through love, generosity, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence.

He encouraged Nigerians to share goodwill, stop exploiting others, forgive one another, and allow the light of Christ to overcome the darkness in the world.
