Borno State Police Command has intensified its campaign against crime with a major security operation that led to the arrest of 20 suspects and recovery of weapons and illicit substances in Maiduguri, the State Capital.
In a coordinated intelligence-led raid conducted on 21st November 2025, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Anti-Social Vices Unit, stormed criminal hideouts across the metropolis.
The operation covered multiple hotspots, including Kasuwan Fara, Baga Road, Bolori Kofa Biyu, Shehuri North, State Low-Cost, Bulabulin, Pompomari Bypass and Albaganaram.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the raid led to the arrest of suspects involved in offences such as possession of dangerous weapons, drug abuse, public nuisance, and vagrancy.

Recovered exhibits include: Three knives, 128 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp; Four cups of dried leaves suspected to be “Laud”; One ice bunker and 12 wraps of cough syrup.
ASP Daso confirmed that the suspects are undergoing preliminary investigation and will be charged to court upon completion.
The Police reaffirmed commitment to sustaining the offensive against criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of residents across Borno State.
