It was a black and bloody Friday in Abuja as two persons tragically lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident which occurred in the early hours of today along the busy Sani Abacha Expressway, in Wuse District of the nation’s capital city.
The accident involved a Mercedes Benz 4Matic GlL550 with registration number RBC- 95DJ and a HOWO Tipper Truck, belonging to Big-Dee company from Nasarawa State.
According to the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), the accident occurred at about 1:am when the Mercedes Benz rammed into the rear of the truck, fully loaded with gravels.
Consequently, the driver, lone female occupant of the vehicle died on the spot.
Head, FEMD’s Public Affairs, Nkechi Isa , in a statement Friday, revealed that remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the National Hospital, Abuja.
It added that personnel of FEMD, Federal Road Safety Corps, FCT Police Command jointly attended to the incident, to restore normal-vehicular movements in the area.
