Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has described his son Abba Abubakar’s decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a personal choice.
In a post on his Facebook page, Atiku said such decisions are “neither unusual nor alarming” in a democracy, even when family and politics intersect. He emphasized that he does not coerce his children or Nigerians in matters of conscience.
Atiku also used the post to criticize the APC, saying the party’s governance has led to “severe economic, social hardships” for Nigerians. He reiterated his commitment to working with “like-minded patriots” to restore good governance and provide citizens with “a credible alternative which brings relief, hope, and progress.”
