The Acting Corps Commander Education (CC Edn), Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, has inaugurated a nationwide academic support program aimed at improving the performance of students in Command Secondary Schools ahead of upcoming national examinations.

Speaking during the launch, Brig. Gen. Ahmed directed all Command Secondary Schools across the country to organize specialized academic workshops and training sessions for teachers and Senior Secondary School Three (SS3) students.

The initiative is designed to enhance teaching effectiveness while better preparing students for examinations conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Participating schools are expected to implement targeted academic clinics, intensive revision classes, and examination technique workshops, with a strong focus on core subjects.

Sessions are facilitated by experienced education officers and subject specialists who provide practical guidance on answering examination questions, time management, and strategies for achieving excellent results.

The programme forms part of a broader effort by the Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC) to strengthen teachers’ instructional capacity and equip students with the academic skills necessary for high performance in external exams.

The seven-day intensive training, scheduled to run through March and April 2026, underscores the Command’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence.

Brig. Gen. Ahmed noted that the initiative is expected to further solidify the reputation of Command Secondary Schools as centres of discipline, academic achievement, and holistic development, aligning with global best practices.

The launch reflects the Nigerian Army’s continued investment in education as a tool for nurturing disciplined, skilled, and academically capable youths.
