Arc Edidiong Ukpong Attains Distinguished Fellow Status at NIA’s 65th AGM

Architect Edidiong Etim Ukpong has been conferred with the prestigious rank of Distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA), marking his elevation to the highest professional cadre in Nigerian architecture.

The honour was bestowed during the 65th Annual General Meeting and Conference (2025 BGM) of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), held at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In his announcement, Arc. Ukpong expressed deep gratitude, noting that the recognition reflects over a decade of dedicated architectural practice, consistent professional excellence and contributions to national development.

“To be Fellow of the NIA, one must have distinguished oneself in architectural practice for at least 10 years after full membership with the NIA, upholding the tenets of the profession and supporting its growth and values and contributing to human and societal development,” he explained.

Arc. Ukpong also offered heartfelt appreciation to God and acknowledged the support of his family, mentors, colleagues and community, describing the honour as a shared achievement with everyone who has been part of his professional journey.

The accomplished architect will now officially bear the title: Arc Edidiong Etim Ukpong, PhD, QAA, FNIA.

His elevation has attracted congratulatory messages from associates, professional colleagues and well-wishers across the country.
