In a remarkable show of bipartisanship and community support, South South Zonal Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ita Udosen, today donated customized exercise books to pupils of St. Thomas RCM School, Afaha Atai Ibesikpo, in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The donation is in furtherance of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISEAgenda on education.
The initiative, facilitated through Dr. Udosen’s office, complements the Governor’s efforts at improving access to quality education and learning materials across Akwa Ibom State.
The event, held at the school premises in Afaha Atai, had in attendance the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, who commended the gesture and reiterated that Governor Umo Eno’s administration remains committed to repositioning the educational sector as a foundation for sustainable development.
Other dignitaries present included the Village Head of Afaha Atai, Eteidung Etim Edet; Head Teacher of St. Thomas RCM School, Mrs. Midighi-Abasi Aniefiok Udonquak; Director of School Services, SUBEB, Mrs. Mandu Ekpeyong; Mrs. Josephine Bassey, Director, Early Childhood; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Media, Mr. Ernest Akpan; and Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media and Digital Communication, Mr. Destiny Young.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Udosen expressed satisfaction with the Educational ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno, noting that the Governor’s vision for the education sector inspired him to support the initiative through the donation of learning materials.
Head Teacher, Mrs. Uduonquak, lauded Dr. Udosen for his thoughtful intervention, describing it as a morale booster for both pupils and teachers.
