The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for visiting Plateau State to sympathize with victims of the recent killings in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area.
In a press statement on Friday, Yilwatda described the President’s visit as a show of compassionate and responsive leadership at a time when residents are mourning the loss of innocent lives.
He condemned the attacks as “inhuman, cowardly and reprehensible,” stressing that the persistent bloodshed in Plateau is a national tragedy that must not continue.
The APC chairman urged security agencies to adopt modern, intelligence-driven strategies including surveillance technology, drones and AI-powered monitoring systems to track and neutralize criminal elements responsible for the violence.
Yilwatda also called on community leaders and residents to be more vigilant, cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.
He warned that recurring insecurity threatens Plateau’s economic potential, particularly its tourism and agricultural sectors, and could hinder investment and development.

President Tinubu, accompanied by political leaders and stakeholders, also visited families of victims of the Angwan Rukuba attack, offering condolences and reassurance of the federal government’s commitment to restoring peace in the state.

The APC Chairman reiterated that those responsible for the killings must be identified and brought to justice, stressing that the lives of Plateau citizens are “sacred and non-negotiable.”
