The Acting Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr. Akanimo Jonah, has called on staff, students and members of the institution’s community to embrace love, unity and selfless service as they celebrate the Easter season.
Dr. Akanimo made the call in his Easter goodwill message, where he highlighted the spiritual importance of the season, urged members of the polytechnic community to reflect on the values associated with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He described Easter as a period of reflection, renewal and rededication to higher ideals, noting that the celebration symbolizes the triumph of love over hatred, hope over despair and life over death.
According to the Acting Rector, the virtues represented by Easter are not only fundamental to the Christian faith but are also vital in building a peaceful, progressive academic environment.
He encouraged staff and students to imbibe the spirit of sacrificial love, mutual respect and tolerance in their daily interactions, stressing that such values are key to achieving academic excellence and institutional development.
Dr. Akanimo also urged members of the institution to take advantage of the season for both spiritual and intellectual renewal, adding that the pursuit of knowledge should always be guided by strong moral principles and a commitment to the common good.
He wished staff, students and the entire polytechnic community a peaceful, fulfilling Easter celebration, while praying that the season brings renewed strength, wisdom and unity to the institution.
