The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has commenced activities marking the 2026 Police Week with a statewide sanitation exercise and medical outreach programme aimed at promoting public health and strengthening community relations.
The sanitation exercise was carried out across various parts of the state, with officers and personnel cleaning markets, roads, and other public spaces. The initiative underscores the Command’s commitment to community service and environmental cleanliness.
In addition, the Command rolled out a medical outreach programme, offering residents free medical consultations, basic health screenings, and essential medications. The exercise is designed to address immediate health needs while fostering stronger ties between the police and the communities they serve.
The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, led officers to selected locations during the sanitation exercise. He noted that the activities align with the broader objectives of Police Week, particularly in promoting service-oriented policing and community engagement.
Azare urged residents to maintain clean and healthy environments, stressing that collective responsibility is key to building safer communities. He also reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to people-centered policing and initiatives that promote trust, mutual respect, and collaboration.
The Police Command assured residents of its continued dedication to protecting lives and property, while strengthening partnerships that support peace, security, and community development across the state.
