Akwa Ibom State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the State Police Command as critical to safeguarding lives and property in the State
Chairman of the Union, Comrade Nsibiet John, stated this when he visited the Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare noting that the synergy between both institutions remains essential for maintaining peace, promoting accountability, and enhancing public trust.
He commended CP Azare for his exceptional leadership in sustaining peace and combating crime across the state, acknowledging that the successes recorded by the command were made possible through mutual cooperation with the media.
As part of efforts to further strengthen the partnership, Comrade John announced that journalists will carry out a community service exercise at the State Police Headquarters on Thursday, December 4, 2025 and extended an invitation to the Commissioner to the 2025 Press Week celebration beginning Sunday, November 30 to Friday, December 5, 2025.
Responding, CP Baba Mohammed Azare commended the NUJ for promoting the alliance between the police and the media.
