Oron Local Government of Akwa Ibom State has dismissed circulating rumors of a kidnapping incident at Mary Hanney Secondary School today, 28th November 2025.
In a press statement signed by Engr. Asuquo Asuquo, the Council Secretary, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Okon Asukwo Enweme, assured the public that the information is false.
The statement urged residents to continue with their daily activities without panic.
“The school authorities and other relevant agencies have confirmed that no such incident occurred. We advise those spreading false information to desist immediately,” the statement read.
It emphasized that the area remains peaceful, with security operatives on duty as usual.
