The First Lady-designate of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has announced a series of end-of-year festive activities designed to engage and empower women and children from all Local Government Areas across the state.

Lady Obareki unveiled the plans during the November edition of Akwa Ibom State Women Monthly Prayer Service, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo.

She took the Bible reading for the service and relayed details of the Christmas programs through the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Silas.

According to the announcement, the December activities will feature a Christmas party for women and children, complete with carols, games, gift exchanges and a special competition that will culminate in the crowning of ARISE Queen, a highlight designed to showcase confidence, poise, and community leadership among participating women.

Lady Obareki also charged wives of Local Government Chairmen to work closely with community stakeholders to galvanize grassroots support for Governor Umo Eno’s second-term bid, encouraging them to remain united and proactive in mobilization efforts across their respective councils.

The prayer service, themed “There is More (The Eleventh Hour God),” featured intercessory prayers, thanksgiving, and special praise sessions led by women born in November.

Delivering the sermon on the topic “God of the Eleventh Hour,” Pastor Ekaette Kufre urged Christians to cultivate steadfast faith and expect God’s intervention even in seemingly impossible situations.
