Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has praised the recently released Third Quarter 2025 Fiscal Transparency Report by BudgIT Nigeria.
The Governor described the assessment as a validation of his administration’s commitment to openness, accountability in governance.
According to a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, on Friday, Osun was among only 11 states nationwide to achieve a perfect 100 per cent score, marking the state’s highest performance in over a decade.
“We run a transparent, due process-driven administration. Across sectors, our budgetary process continues to receive accolades,” Adeleke said.
“Osun State has once again distinguished itself on the national stage, emerging as one of only 11 states to score a perfect 100 per cent rating in the Q3 2025 Fiscal Transparency League Table.”
The Governor explained that the report evaluates states based on the availability, timeliness, and completeness of public finance documents, the functionality of e-procurement portals, and the accessibility of fiscal data. He said the ranking counters opposition’s claims, reflects excellent management over the last three years.
Highlighting other achievements under his administration, Adeleke noted:
“Our state came first in primary health care access in the South-West, moved from 33rd to 7th in national examination ratings, reduced debt by over 40 per cent, cut infrastructure deficits significantly.”
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Moruf Adeleke, described the rating as evidence of a transparent government, with timely budget execution and open procurement practices.
“It shows a government that is being run transparently. We thank Mr Governor for giving our team the freedom to manage fiscal processes in line with national and global best practices,” he said.
