Nollywood actress and Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, Eniola Badmus, has vowed to pursue legal action against a social media user who accused her of running a prostitution network involving young women and high-profile individuals.

The allegation was made on Thursday by an X user identified as @Femzydr1, who claimed that the popular Yoruba actress operated as a private pimp within the Nigerian movie industry, allegedly linking young women to top directors, movie executives, and politicians.

The post further insinuated that her political appointment was connected to the alleged activities.

In response, Badmus dismissed the claims as entirely false and described them as a deliberate attempt to tarnish her reputation.

“This is the attention you’ve been craving for, so let’s get into it. This is a false accusation and the authorities will step in. Let it be known that we do not forgive in this zone,” she wrote on her verified X account.

The controversy echoes a similar incident in 2023 when a TikTok user, Nwakaego Okoye, posted a viral video alleging that Badmus was a “professional pimp” who connected young women to politicians.

Okoye was subsequently arrested and charged before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos. She was sentenced to three years imprisonment, with an option of a N150,000 fine in lieu of jail time.

In the current case, the accuser, @Femzydr1, later issued a public apology, retracting the allegations.

“I sincerely apologize to Ms. Eniola Badmus, her family, friends, fans, and everyone affected by my recent tweet. The post accusing her of exploitation, linking young girls to movie and political figures, and pimping was wrong, irresponsible, and made without evidence. I deeply regret spreading such damaging and false information,” the user wrote.

As of press time, there has been no official statement from law enforcement authorities regarding the matter.
