Three people have died following a blaze at a food factory near Trikala, central Greece, authorities confirmed on Monday. Earlier reports had suggested five people were missing.

The fire broke out in the early morning hours, with 13 people inside the facility at the time. Eight of them managed to escape, while firefighters worked to rescue others. Thick black smoke, visible flames engulfed the industrial complex, prompting a response of around 40 firefighters and 13 fire trucks.
