The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will take place from January 26 to February 28 at all approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this on Saturday in Lagos during a meeting with Commissioners for Education ahead of the 2025 UTME and Direct Entry (DE) exercises.

Oloyede explained that the sale of UTME application documents, known as ePINs, would commence earlier than the actual registration period.

“The sale of UTME application document, which is the ePIN, will start earlier than commencement of actual registration, which is from January 19 to February 26.

Actual UTME registration period is between January 26 and February 28 at all approved CBT centres,” he said.

He added that the mock examination selection would close on February 16, while the sale of Direct Entry application documents and ePIN vending would run from March 2 to April 25.

The Registrar also announced that UTME results of underage candidates would only be released after the completion of a full evaluation process to ensure proper assessment of candidates seeking age waivers.

On monitoring, Oloyede revealed that all CBT centres participating in the registration exercise would be monitored live from JAMB headquarters.

“Any centre whose registration activities cannot be viewed from the headquarters will not be paid, and such registration may be invalidated,” he warned.

He disclosed that 924 CBT centres had been provisionally listed and would still undergo a final test before full accreditation.

Oloyede further clarified that candidates are not required to pay any service charges to CBT centres, stressing that only JAMB-approved registration fees apply.

On examination towns, he advised candidates to register early, noting that late registration could limit their chances of securing preferred locations.

Addressing eligibility, the Registrar stated that only candidates who would be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are generally qualified for admission, while underage candidates would undergo a rigorous evaluation process and must score at least 80 per cent across relevant assessments to qualify for a waiver.
