Youths of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office, presenting a cheque of one hundred million naira as support towards the purchase of nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement and presentation were made through Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja as part of activities marking his second year in office.
Youths from the twenty one local government areas of the state gathered at the venue to demonstrate their support for the leadership of both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, describing their administrations as people focused and youth friendly.
Stakeholders who spoke at the event commended the President and the Governor for what they described as inclusive governance that has strengthened unity and improved the lives of young people across the state. They listed improvements in road infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, rural electrification and human capital development as key achievements of the current administration.
They also described the All Progressives Congress under the leadership of President Tinubu as a strong platform for democratic growth and national development.
The State Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Bello, praised Governor Ododo for giving youths opportunities to showcase their talents, saying the massive turnout and financial contribution were clear signs of youth readiness to mobilize for the party in the next general elections.
He said the APC remains a party committed to youth empowerment and leadership development, positioning young people as future nation builders.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed appreciation for the endorsement of both himself and President Tinubu, stating that no previous administration has invested in youth empowerment as much as the current federal government.
He highlighted initiatives such as the student loan scheme, youth empowerment programs and women focused interventions as evidence of the government’s commitment to building a productive future for Nigerian youths.
Governor Ododo described the event as a strong coalition of support for the APC at both state and national levels, adding that it reflects growing confidence in the party’s leadership.
He also commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her humanitarian efforts through the Renewed Hope Initiative, noting that hundreds of thousands of citizens across the country have benefited from the program.
The Governor urged youths in Kogi State to remain peaceful and law abiding, and to shun activities that could hinder the progress and development of the state.
