The Federal Capital Territory Administration has approved a N62 million contract for facility and management services at the Korea Model School, Abuja, and also ratified the nine-point-eight billion naira Kabusa–Ketti Road project.

The approvals were granted on Wednesday at the first Executive Council meeting of the FCT Administration for 2026, presided over by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Chief of Staff to the Minister, Mr. Chidi Amadi, said the council considered and approved five key memos aimed at accelerating development in the nation’s capital.

In the education sector, the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, said the council approved a contract for facility management services at the Korea Model School, Abuja, at a cost of sixty-two million naira, covering the period from February 2025 to January 2026.

He explained that the high-tech school was established by the Korean Government in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission and handed over to the FCT Administration in 2019 to serve as a model institution.

On infrastructure, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Mr. Richard Dauda, disclosed that the council ratified the construction of the Kabusa–Ketti Road at a contract sum of nine-point-eight billion naira.

He said the road, which was awarded on an emergency basis due to its poor condition and security concerns, had already been completed and commissioned in June 2025 and is currently in use.

The council also ratified emergency erosion control works and restoration of major water transmission pipelines linking the Lower Usuma Dam to the city, valued at about one-point-seven billion naira.

On revenue and land administration, the Director of Lands Administration, Mr. Chijioke Nwankwoeze, announced that the council approved enforcement actions against defaulters in the payment of ground rents, Certificates of Occupancy and land use conversion fees.

He warned that from next week, the FCTA would commence sealing of defaulting properties and revocation of titles, particularly in areas such as Wuse Two and Garki Areas Seven and Eight, where illegal conversion of residential properties to commercial use has been identified.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Michael Ango, urged residents to meet their statutory obligations, stressing that revenue generation remains critical to the provision of world-class infrastructure and services in Abuja.

The FCT Administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuity in project execution and improved service delivery across the Federal Capital Territory.
