The Kogi State Government has announced the death of three chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The deceased are Hon. Onojah James Ignatius, Hon. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman, and Alhaji Alih Atabo.

Their deaths were confirmed on Monday in a statement issued in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.

According to the statement, Onojah James Ignatius was a Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State and a former Chairman of Igalamela Local Government Area. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman served as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, while Alih Atabo was the APC Chairman of Anyigba Ward in Dekina Local Government Area.

“The Government and people of Kogi State have received with profound sorrow the news of the passing of three distinguished sons of the state,” Fanwo said.

He described the deceased as committed party leaders who served the state and the APC with dedication, loyalty and a strong sense of responsibility.

“Onojah James Ignatius was a seasoned grassroots mobilizer, an administrator whose passion for community development and good governance was evident in all his engagements,” Fanwo said.

He added that Jatto Onimisi Suleiman carried out his duties with humility and diligence, always placing public interest above personal considerations, while Alih Atabo was a devoted party stalwart, whose commitment to the unity and growth of the APC at the ward level was exemplary.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths were not disclosed.

Fanwo conveyed the condolences of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the state government and the people of Kogi State to the families of the deceased, the APC family, and residents of Igalamela, Okene and Dekina local government areas.

“We deeply appreciate their invaluable contributions to the development of Kogi State and the strengthening of our great party. Their legacies of service, sacrifice and dedication will continue to inspire us,” the statement added.
