The Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, has ordered its members in federal health institutions across the country to withdraw their services indefinitely.
The directive, issued today in Abuja, comes after the Federal Ministry of Health enforced a “No Work, No Pay” policy, which JOHESU says was imposed without consultation.
JOHESU leader, Comrade Abubakar Sani Aminu described the policy as a unilateral decision that undermines workers’ rights and collective bargaining principles.
He warned that it was “the final weapon” being used by the government to weaken the union.
In the statement, JOHESU directs members to stay away from their duty posts with immediate effect, ruling out skeleton services or any compromise.
