Pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, has publicly apologized to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, following a series of controversies that led to her arrest and subsequent release by the Nigeria Police.

In a livestream posted on Sunday, Okafor acknowledged past mistakes, tendered a public apology to Ogala and others he said he had offended.

“I apologize to everyone that I have offended. And once again, I repeat this. I’m ready to make restitution to anyone,” the cleric said, while also disputing several allegations levelled against him.

The apology follows Ogala’s dramatic arrest in Abuja, later Lagos, reportedly escalating after her lawyer attempted to record police actions.

Intervention by Take It Back Movement coordinator Jamiu Towolawi (Jharmo) facilitated her release.

The dispute stems from Ogala’s claims that Okafor allegedly breached a promise to marry her, including financial transactions amounting to N45 million, personal assurances spanning years.

Through her lawyers, she had demanded N1 billion in damages for emotional distress, reputational harm.

Okafor’s public apology marks a significant step towards reconciliation, with sources revealing he personally met Ogala at the Zone 2 Command in Onikan to appeal for peace.
