Governor Uba Sani’s efforts in infrastructural development, land administration reforms have established Kaduna State as one of Nigeria’s leading investment destinations.

Making this assertion, the Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Mrs. Patience Fakai, expressed confidence that Kaduna State will top the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ranking in the following assessment.

Fakai, who spoke at a press briefing on Friday, recalled that Kaduna State previously secured second place nationwide in the assessment by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) for its Subnational Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Ranking.

She added that in the 2023 report, the state was ranked eighth with an EoDB score of 6.18. However, PEBEC’s latest ranking has elevated it to second place in the country, achieving a score of 65.1% across 16 indicators.

She credited this year’s success to Governor Uba Sani’s deliberate, reform-driven leadership, stating that his unwavering focus on private-sector-led investment has repositioned Kaduna State as a competitive business destination.

The Commissioner noted that PEBEC’s assessment covered various sectors, including infrastructure, digital connectivity, taxation, land administration.

“Kaduna moved up to second place in 2025, reflecting measurable performance gains, year after year. By 2027, we aim to secure the number one position, based on the development initiatives from His Excellency,” she added.

Mrs. Fakai stressed that the Governor has transformed the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA)—the one-stop investment hub—to minimize bureaucratic obstacles that deter investments.

“We are committed to reducing bureaucratic hurdles for new investors and improving the efficiency of licensing and registration processes. Kaduna State also promotes the digitization of business services and approvals,” she stated.

According to her, KADIPA has enhanced its aftercare services for investors by providing support systems, facilitating communication with government officials to ensure projects advance smoothly.

The Commissioner highlighted that the measures implemented by Governor Uba Sani have propelled Kaduna State to become the second-best subnational entity in Nigeria’s Ease of Doing Business rankings and the top in the North.

“With the ongoing national tax reforms led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we anticipate that the state’s IGR will double by 2026,” she added.

She explained that the ranking is conducted every two years to evaluate how state governments implement reforms that reduce regulatory barriers, improve service delivery, enhance transparency, and lower the cost of doing business for investors and enterprises.
