Enugu State Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of 51-year-old Emeka Emmanuel Nwangwu, a member of a neighbourhood security watch group, who has been arraigned for the alleged murder of his 19-year-old female cousin, Loveth Uloma Nwangwu, in Nsukka Local Government Area.
The suspect was arraigned on Wednesday, December 10, following the conclusion of investigations by detectives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), under the directive of the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said Nwangwu was arrested on December 1, 2025 after allegedly assaulting the deceased, resulting in injuries that proved fatal.
“Detectives have arraigned and secured the remand of 51-year old Emeka Emmanuel Nwangwu after the conclusion of investigations by the State CID”, Ndukwe said, adding that the case was promptly charged to court on a one count charge of murder.
The court ordered that Nwangwu be remanded at the Enugu Correctional Centre, directed that the case file be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice through the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal review and advice.
CP Giwa expressed condolences to the bereaved family, assuring them that justice is being pursued. “Justice is already in motion, as the investigation has been concluded and the suspect has been arraigned and remanded accordingly,” he said.

The case follows other violent incidents, including the November arraignment of Wasiu Akinwande (alias Olori Eso), Qudus Egbere, and Sola Tomiwa in Lagos over the alleged murder of two men in Mushin.
The trio faced a five-count charge, including conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and membership of an unlawful society.
