Dangote Refinery has announced that it will begin supplying 1.5 billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) monthly, equivalent to 50 million litres per day to meet Nigeria’s domestic petrol demand from December 2025.

The refinery also revealed plans to increase supply to 1.7 billion litres per month (57 million litres/day) starting February 2026.

This commitment was disclosed in a letter addressed to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and signed by the refinery’s Chief Executive Officer, David Bird, dated November 30, 2025.

To promote transparency and restore market confidence, Dangote Refinery requested that NMDPRA deploy officials to its facility from December 1 to independently verify and publicly publish daily production and stock levels.

The refinery further sought regulatory support to ensure unhindered clearance of crude oil, feedstocks, blending components and smooth lifting of finished petroleum products by vessels.

It noted that persistent clearance delays were affecting operations and increasing costs for consumers.

“We are ready and able to supply 1.5 billion litres per month in December and January, followed by 1.7 billion litres per month from February 2026 onwards,” Bird said. “Please allow the ‘Nigeria First’ policy to work to the benefit of all Nigerians.”

The announcement comes amid sustained pressure on Nigeria’s downstream sector, where domestic supply gaps continue to force reliance on imported petrol.

Bird added that the refinery is willing to publish its daily supply, production and stock volumes across online and print platforms in the interest of public transparency.
