Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday arrived at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the funeral prayer of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, who died on Thursday.
Shettima is expected to join thousands of sympathisers, religious leaders and top government officials for the burial, which will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
Among the senior government officials in his entourage are the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar.

Others present include Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, Senator Shehu Buba, and former Bauchi State Governor, Ahmed Mu’azu.
The late Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi was widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential Islamic scholars. His death has drawn condolences and large crowds from across the country.
