The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction of a contractor and his associates for bribery, forgery, and making false statements in a case that reinforces the Commission’s fight against corruption in Nigeria’s public procurement system.

The judgment highlights the consequences of attempts to compromise contract award processes through bribery, falsification of documents, or deceptive practices, with the court affirming that such actions will face the full force of the law.

The ICPC reiterated its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in engagements between government institutions and private contractors.

The Commission also commended the judiciary for its professionalism in handling the matter and called on citizens, civil society groups, and the media to continue supporting the anti-corruption campaign by reporting suspicious activities through ICPC’s official channels.

According to the Commission, a Nigeria where public contracts are awarded on merit is achievable when integrity prevails over corruption.
