Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II, has declared that the people of Essien Udim will repay Governor Umo Eno’s affection and goodwill at the polls in 2027, especially for honouring elder statesman, Obong Michael Afangideh, with a fully sponsored 106th birthday celebration.

Prince Akpabio II made the promise at the birthday celebration at the residence of the centenarian, Ikot Umo Essien, Odoro Ikot, emphasizing that Governor Eno’s gestures toward Essien Udim have left an unforgettable impression on the community.

“The Governor bankrolled this entire 106th birthday celebration himself. He did not allow any of us to contribute a dime. His love for our father and for Essien Udim is something we will never take for granted.” He said.

Prince Akpabio II assured that Essien Udim will respond in kind with a resounding electoral statement in 2027.

The lawmaker described Governor Eno’s gesture as “indelible,” stressing that Essien Udim regards the Governor’s benevolence as a mark of true leadership.

Paramount Ruler of Abak and Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, Akuku Saviour Sylvester Udofia, affirmed that the entire Annang nation, not just Essien Udim, will back Governor Eno’s re-election.

He praised the Governor’s commitment to unity, rural development, and entrepreneurship, describing his governance philosophy as “unprecedented in the history of Akwa Ibom. The Annang will support you, not just Essien Udim alone.”

Goodwill messages also came from the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elder Udeme Otong, while Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien delivered the birthday toast.

In his remarks, Governor Umo Eno expressed appreciation to Chief Afangideh for his longstanding support, recalling that the elder’s blessings and prayers were instrumental during his governorship bid.

He noted that his presence at the celebration, despite a crowded schedule, was a personal commitment to honour a man who exemplifies loyalty and integrity.

“Chief Afangideh was the first to show me love. He prayed for me and stood by me during my campaign. He is a man of honour, his words are his bond.” the Governor said.

The Governor thanked the people of Essien Udim for their unwavering support and urged them to extend the same to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio ahead of the 2027 elections.
