Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has again called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he continues to work tirelessly to tackle the socio-economic challenges confronting the country.

Governor Eno made the call today, 13th November 2025 when he received officials of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development led by its founder, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, an internationally renowned diplomat who rose to the rank of Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the United Nations, and later Chief of Staff to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Acknowledging the difficulties the nation has faced in recent times, Governor Eno noted that President Tinubu has demonstrated commitment through bold reforms aimed at restoring stability and growth across sectors.

“As patriots, I believe we need to support the President to continue his bold and audacious reforms, which are already showing signs of success across vital sectors of our nation,” he said.

The Governor thanked Prof. Gambari for showing interest in the administration’s ARISE Agenda and highlighted the State’s ongoing efforts to deepen peace, enhance security, and maximize its tourism assets including the ARISE Palm Resort, the smart airport, hotels, and other infrastructure designed to position Akwa Ibom as a major tourism player within the Gulf of Guinea.

He emphasized the importance of human capacity development in achieving these goals, stressing the need for synergy between the civil service and the public service.

“In all of these, we need strong human capacity and development. Like you rightly noted, the need for our people to take ownership and align themselves with the core values of the ARISE Agenda is very important. So there is a need for synergy between the civil service and the public service. I believe we can work closely to provide training for our workers”. The Governor added.

Governor Eno directed the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, and the Executive Assistant/Chief Delivery Advisor, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson, to work out modalities for collaboration in relevant areas.

Prof. Gambari expressed gratitude to the Governor for the warm reception and the unique hospitality of the State and commended him for the significant strides and positive impact recorded in Akwa Ibom in just over two years of his administration.
